Supplies of copper scrap increased last week as sellers sold cargoes actively. Meanwhile, demand from downstream copper semis producers using copper scrap weakened, leaving ample supply of high-quality copper scrap in the market. Most of copper rod plants using copper scrap could sustain their production for 5-6 days with existing inventories, which increased some 300 mt from the prior week.
