CRNO, also known as non-oriented electrical steel (NOES), NGO, or CRNGO, is widely used in rotating machinery such as industrial motors, generators, EVs, and home appliances.
In October 2024, DGTR initiated the investigation after POSCO Maharashtra Steel Pvt and CSCI Steel Corporation India Pvt filed an application, claiming that a surge in imports from China significantly suppressed domestic prices and threatened their viability.
