【Daily Review of Aluminum Scrap: Aluminum Prices Rebound, Divergence in Prices of Wrought and Tense Aluminum Scrap】 Regionally, Hunan, Hubei, Foshan, and Jiangxi adopted a steady strategy, without following significant price adjustments in the primary aluminum market. Other regions such as Shanghai, Jiangsu, Henan, and Anhui followed the A00 price movements. Product-wise, prices for shredded aluminum tense scrap and wheel hubs removed from vehicles remained flat compared to the previous trading day, while baled UBC prices increased by 100-150 yuan/mt.
SMM April 17 News: Spot primary aluminum prices rose by 120 yuan/mt compared to the previous trading day, with SMM A00 spot aluminum closing at 19,800 yuan/mt. The overall aluminum scrap market showed little price change yesterday, and downstream demand did not exhibit a clear peak season trend, maintaining purchasing as needed. Today, baled UBC aluminum scrap was quoted at 14,900-15,500 yuan/mt (excluding tax), while shredded aluminum tense scrap was quoted at 15,850-17,350 yuan/mt (excluding tax). Regionally, Hunan, Hubei, Foshan, and Jiangxi adopted a stable strategy, without following the primary aluminum market in significant price adjustments. Other regions such as Shanghai, Jiangsu, Henan, and Anhui followed the A00 price movements. By product, prices for shredded aluminum tense scrap and wheel hubs removed from vehicles remained flat compared to the previous trading day, while baled UBC aluminum scrap rose by 100-150 yuan/mt. In the short term, the current high aluminum scrap prices are mainly due to the generally low operating rates of downstream scrap utilization enterprises and tight domestic circulation of aluminum tense scrap, providing support for aluminum scrap prices.
