China Steel Port Shipments Jumped, Arriving Shipments Rose

SMM statistics showed that China’s steel port shipments totalled 5.43 million mt last week, up 12% from a week earlier. Among them, the combined shipments across six major ports in the north (Jingtang Port, Caofeidian Port, Bayuquan Port, Tianjin Xingang Port, Huanghua Port, Jinzhou Port) were 2.77 million mt, accounting for 51% of the total shipments.

SMM statistics showed that China’s steel port shipments totalled 5.43 million mt last week, up 12% from a week earlier. Among them, the combined shipments across six major ports in the north (Jingtang Port, Caofeidian Port, Bayuquan Port, Tianjin Xingang Port, Huanghua Port, Jinzhou Port) were 2.77 million mt, accounting for 51% of the total shipments.

The combined shipments across three major ports in east China (Shanghai Port, Zhangjiagang Port and Lanbei Port) were 413,700 mt, up 66,600 mt, accounting for 8% of the total shipments.

The combined shipments across two major ports in south China (Zhanjianggang Port and Fangchenggang Port) were 398,300 mt,down 131,900 mt, accounting for 7% of the total shipments.

SMM statistics showed that arriving shipments increased 386,700 mt or 7%. Among them, arrivals across the 13 major ports in east China were 2.98 million mt, up 564,900 mt and accounting for 53% of the total arrivals. Arrivals at Guangzhou Port in south China were 418,400 mt, up 128,600 mt and accounting for 7% of the total arrivals.
