Luo Tiejun, vice president of the China Iron and Steel Industry Association, said that in 2022, China's steel production using EAFs accounted for 9.7% of the total crude steel output, which is far lower than the global average of 30%. In the process of carbon peak and carbon neutralisation, the development of steelmaking using EAFs is an inevitable trend to achieve green and low-carbon development.
