Hyde Hydrogen Unveils Large-Scale Wind-to-Hydrogen Solution, Supporting the World's Largest Green Methanol Project

  • Nov 19, 2025, at 6:38 pm

On November 17, the world's largest green methanol project announced the successful completion of its process validation at the inaugural Ecological Co-construction Conference of the Xing'an League Green Hydrogen-Ammonia-Methanol Industrial Base, marking the official launch of the world's first green methanol project to achieve a closed commercial loop. The green methanol produced by this project will be directly supplied to international shipping giants such as Maersk, with a total annual capacity of 1.45 million mt expected to be achieved by the end of 2027, strongly advancing the low-carbon transition of the global shipping industry.

At this conference, Dr. Yao Changsheng, CEO of Haide Hydrogen, delivered a technical presentation titled "Key Technologies and Industrialisation Applications for Large-Scale Hydrogen Production from Volatile Wind Power," providing an in-depth explanation of how to integrate renewable energy with molecular energy through Power-to-X (P2X) technology. He pointed out that Haide Hydrogen's core breakthrough lies in solving the challenge of efficiently producing hydrogen from large-scale volatile wind power.

To tackle this challenge, Haide Hydrogen officially launched the HydoLyser® X Hydrogen Production System and the workshop-level solution HydoPlant, designed for large-scale hydrogen production from wind power. This technological system achieves innovation in core materials, stack structure, and AI intelligent systems. After three years of R&D, an investment of over 100 million yuan, and more than 20,000 hours of validation, it has demonstrated outstanding performance:

  • Power consumption across all operating conditions is below 4.3 kWh/m³,

  • enabling operation at a wide load range of 10%-120%,

  • with a current efficiency exceeding 97%.

Meanwhile, the integrated HydoPlant solution, combined with an intelligent management system and modular plug-in operation and maintenance technology, can keep annual operation and maintenance costs below 3% of the capital investment, providing the project with a cost-competitive hydrogen source and a replicable technological model.

During the conference, Haide Hydrogen completed cooperation signings in the Xing'an League Development Zone and participated as one of the founding members in the launch ceremony of the "Xing'an League Green Methanol Industry Alliance." These initiatives signify that Haide Hydrogen has deeply integrated into this strategic industrial ecosystem and is injecting strong momentum into the new industry chain of "wind and solar power - green hydrogen - green chemical industry" with its validated technological achievements.
