According to reports, the SMM weekly comprehensive operating rate for lead-acid battery enterprises in five provinces was 69.22% from October 31 to November 6, 2025, up 0.32 percentage points WoW.
Recently, affected by rising lead prices, production costs for lead-acid batteries increased. To avoid accumulating high-cost inventory, some medium and large enterprises planned to reduce or halt production or conduct equipment maintenance from late October to early November. This week, maintenance at lead-acid battery enterprises gradually concluded, with a small number of firms resuming normal production. However, entering November, demand in the automotive battery market remained weak, leading some companies to lower their November production plans. As a result, the weekly operating rate for lead-acid batteries only saw a slight increase this week. Next week, as the impact of production cuts and shutdowns at the beginning of the month subsides, the weekly operating rate is expected to continue recovering.
