Recently, the annual 400,000 mt high-performance electrical steel project of Baotou Yili New Energy Equipment Manufacturing Co., Ltd. was successfully completed. With a total investment of 500 million yuan and a construction area of nearly 50,000 m², the project primarily produces high-end electrical steel raw materials. Construction commenced in January 2024 and has now achieved 100% completion (including the main body of the normalizing line, steel structures, and plant construction), with formal completion in July.
During project implementation, the Planning Branch of the Rare Earth High-Tech Zone established a closed-loop support system encompassing "full-cycle tracking and customised services" from planning and design to completion verification. At the planning and design stage, the branch proactively addressed enterprise needs by providing customised guidance on key aspects such as land use layout, building setbacks, and supporting facilities, helping the company optimise its plan and reduce time costs. Concurrently, approval processes were streamlined through a "tolerance for deficiencies + parallel approval" model to shorten the preparatory period. A dedicated service team was formed to conduct on-site progress tracking and coordinate planning alignment issues during construction, ensuring seamless integration between the project and planning requirements. Building on preliminary work, the branch efficiently completed planning verification on August 4 and issued the "Construction Project Completion Planning (Land) Verification Opinion," laying a solid foundation for project acceptance.
The equipment for Baotou Yili New Energy Equipment Manufacturing Co., Ltd.'s annual 400,000 mt high-performance electrical steel project was entirely self-developed by the company, featuring high automation, low cost, and high efficiency, giving it strong competitiveness in the domestic market. As supporting industry for the "Two Rare Earth Bases," the project facilitates the transformation and upgrading of steel products and extends the industry chain, providing robust support for Baotou's permanent magnet motor industry. Upon completion, it will become the largest and only raw material production and processing base for electrical steel among domestic private enterprises, with projected annual operating revenue of 2.5 billion yuan, output value per mu of 24.27 million yuan, profit and tax of 150 million yuan, and over 1,000 new jobs created.
