Recently, Longyuan Power's Jilin subsidiary has achieved a key milestone in its Changchun New Energy Hydrogen-based Chemical Comprehensive Utilization Integrated Demonstration Project. The supporting 750 MW new energy construction indicators have been approved by the Changchun Municipal Government, and the chemical project has been registered with the Changchun Municipal Development and Reform Commission. The substantive implementation of Changchun's first hydrogen-based integrated energy demonstration project not only pioneers a "power-hydrogen-ammonia-storage" full-chain closed-loop development model but also, with impressive figures of 100% green electricity consumption and an annual carbon reduction of 360,000 mt, injects strong momentum into the "Hydrogen-Powered Jilin" initiative and the green transformation of northeast China's old industrial base.
As the first hydrogen-based integrated energy demonstration project in the Changchun area, its chemical section is located in the Beihu Fine Chemicals and New Materials Industrial Demonstration Park in Changchun New Area, Changchun City. The approved supporting 750 MW new energy construction indicators are distributed in Nongan County and Dehui City. Among them, 600 MW of wind power in Nongan County, including 450 MW of wind power and 150 MW of PV, adopts a "self-generation and self-consumption" model to provide 100% green electricity for a chemical project producing 200,000 mt of green ammonia annually. The 150 MW of wind power in Dehui City adopts a "self-generation and self-consumption, surplus electricity to the grid" model to connect to the Jilin power grid. It is expected to deliver 450 million kWh of clean electricity annually, reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 360,000 mt, with significant ecological benefits.
To ensure the market consumption of hydrogen and ammonia products, under the overall deployment of China Energy Investment Corporation, Longyuan Power's Jilin subsidiary has actively expanded cooperation channels and has signed green ammonia sales agreements with four domestic and overseas enterprises. It is currently deepening negotiations with CRRC and two foreign-funded enterprises from Japan and South Korea, with the aim of achieving full consumption of green ammonia from the project. This seamless "production-sales" commercial closed-loop provides a replicable model for the commercial operation of downstream industries in the new energy sector.
