Recently, the National Energy Research Institute released the China Energy Data Report (2025).
According to the report, before 2015, China only had a few hydrogen refueling stations, such as the Beijing Hydrogen Energy Demonstration Park Hydrogen Refueling Station, the Shanghai Anting Hydrogen Refueling Station, and the Zhengzhou Yutong Hydrogen Refueling Station. With the accelerated development of the domestic fuel cell automotive industry and the strong support from central fiscal subsidies, the construction of hydrogen refueling stations across the country has also continued to grow. By 2024, a cumulative total of 540 hydrogen refueling stations had been built in China, with 134 new stations constructed, representing a cumulative year-on-year (YoY) increase of 33%.

The China Energy Data Report (2025) is an annual report compiled by the International Energy Network and the National Energy Research Institute.
The report covers data from 2015 to 2024, spanning a total of 10 years. It consists of six major sections, 15 chapters, and 227 charts and tables, covering the entire energy industry, including energy and the economy, fossil energy (coal, oil, natural gas), electricity, renewable energy (hydropower, PV, wind power, biomass energy), energy storage, hydrogen energy, and new energy vehicles (NEVs). It provides a systematic and comprehensive analysis and comparison from dimensions such as resources, development, utilization, and imports and exports, aiming to provide more comprehensive data references for the entire energy industry and facilitate a quick understanding of the current status and future development trends of the energy industry.
