SMM News on June 27:
From June 21 to June 27, 2025, the weekly operating rate of secondary lead in four provinces tracked by SMM was 34.62%, down 4.96 percentage points WoW. This week, the operating rates in Jiangsu and Inner Mongolia remained stable. In Anhui, the impact of environmental protection measures weakened, and production at some manufacturers recovered. Additionally, in Henan, the purchase price of scrap batteries rose during the week, and arrivals recovered WoW. After raw materials were replenished, the operating rate increased. Due to the still tight supply of scrap batteries, most enterprises indicated that arrivals only met immediate production needs, making it difficult to accumulate raw material inventory. SMM expects that the change in the operating rate of secondary lead will be relatively small next week.
