First Shipment Export from Cameroon's Grand-Zambi Iron Ore Mine Project Postponed to August 2025

  • Jun 04, 2025, at 6:05 pm

Recently, Cameroonian mining company G-Stones Resources S.A announced that the first shipment of iron ore from the Grand-Zambi iron ore project in the region will be exported by the end of August 2025. This adjustment is approximately three months behind the initial plan set at the beginning of the year, with the original forecast being for exports to commence in June 2025.

The Grand-Zambi iron ore project, located in southern Cameroon, is being mined by G-Stones Resources SA, a mining company controlled by Cameroonian billionaire Dieudonné Bougne. The project holds a 14-year mining license, with mineral resource reserves totaling 150 million mt and an average iron grade of 29.45%. Currently, 600,000 mt of raw ore has been stockpiled at the mine site. The project's iron ore will be exported through the port of Kribi. According to the company's plan, the project aims to export approximately 2 million mt of iron ore annually.
