Chinese tech company Leapting Technology has signed an agreement with Indian engineering firm Larsen & Toubro (L&T) to supply unmanned intelligent robots for the construction of 3.5 GW of solar parks in Saudi Arabia. The robots will be used to install PV modules at two sites covering tens of millions of square metres, addressing labor shortages and extreme heat conditions reaching 50°C.
The robots, which use automatic navigation, have completed testing at Leapting’s factory in Huzhou and will be shipped to Saudi Arabia in May. They are expected to install hundreds of thousands of PV modules within six months.
This deal follows Leapting’s successful deployment of its AI-driven robot in Australia. The company claims its technology offers 3–5 times higher efficiency and can reduce overall construction time by 25% compared to manual operations.
