Recently, the Thailand Board of Investment (BOI) has been promoting local Thai parts manufacturers to supply Chinese EV giants, connecting supply chains and establishing collaborative networks to drive Thailand towards becoming a world-class production site, creating economic value exceeding THB 2 billion (approximately RMB 428.2 million based on the exchange rate data at 22:00 on March 8).

Mr. Narit Thetsathirasak, Secretary General of the BOI, revealed that this initiative was accomplished in collaboration with one of China's NEV enterprises with the highest sales and export growth rates. He further stated, "Currently, many Chinese new energy companies aim to procure a significant volume of automotive parts from domestic Thai manufacturers, particularly in six key component groups: interiors, exteriors, electrical systems, chassis, new energy, and powertrains. It is anticipated that the transaction value of parts will exceed THB 2.1 billion."
Meanwhile, a delegation led by Logan Lu, CEO of SMM, recently visited the BOI in Thailand for exchanges. Through this visit and survey, SMM gained a deeper understanding of the BOI's development in Thailand, as well as a more profound insight into the current market situation, development trends, and existing issues within Thailand's automotive industry and the recycled metals sector. This has also laid a solid foundation for conducting thorough research in preparation for the 2025 SMM 2nd Southeast Asia Automotive Supply Chain Conference.
