The most-traded SHFE lead 2506 contract opened at 16,960 yuan/mt today, fluctuated downward to a low of 16,870 yuan/mt, and finally closed at 16,895 yuan/mt, down 0.18%, with an open interest of 36,543. The tight supply of scrap batteries remains unresolved, with many secondary lead smelters reducing or halting production, while primary lead smelters have seen both increases and decreases in output. Downstream purchasing enthusiasm is low, with some entering the holiday period early. Overall, lead prices are expected to maintain a fluctuating trend before the holiday.
