SMM April 25th News:
The price of waste lead-acid batteries has continued to rise, and recyclers have limited stock. Retailers are increasingly reluctant to sell due to bullish sentiment. The vicious cycle is difficult to break, forcing secondary lead smelters to continue raising prices, ultimately leading to production cuts due to loss pressure.
After secondary lead smelters reduced production, the supply in the secondary crude lead market became even more sluggish, with few offers during the week. Downstream customers reported that the ex-factory offers from secondary crude lead suppliers were higher than those of secondary refined lead, resulting in a persistent inverted price relationship. Some lead alloy smelters reduced production due to the high and difficult-to-purchase price of secondary crude lead. It is expected that the market performance will not improve next week.
