[SMM Survey: Operating Rates of Rolling Mills in Central China Remain Unchanged, Production Pace Relatively Stable] During the survey period (March 18-24), the operating rate of rebar rolling mills in the Central China region remained unchanged, while the capacity utilisation rate increased; the operating rate of wire rod rolling mills remained unchanged, but the capacity utilisation rate decreased.

Operating Rate and Forecast of Construction Steel Production Lines in Central China Steel Mills

During the survey period (March 18-24), the operating rate of rebar rolling lines in the central China region remained unchanged, while the capacity utilisation rate increased; the operating rate of wire rod rolling lines remained unchanged, but the capacity utilisation rate decreased.

During the survey period (March 18-24), the operating rate of rebar rolling lines in the central China region remained stable, and the capacity utilisation rate increased.

Specifically, there were no changes in the production of rolling lines in the central China region, with the operating rate remaining the same as the previous period. In terms of capacity utilisation, some electric furnace producers in the region shortened their operating hours due to profit compression, while a few steel mills in Hubei increased their operating hours. The combined effect led to an increase in rebar supply. For in-plant inventory, actual demand from construction sites increased moderately, and direct sales from steel mills in the region were moderate, resulting in a slight decrease in overall in-plant inventory.

It is expected that steel mills in the central China region will maintain their current production pace next week, with relatively stable rebar production.

During the survey period (March 18-24), the operating rate of wire rod rolling lines in the central China region remained unchanged, but the capacity utilisation rate decreased.

Specifically, there were no changes in the production of wire rod rolling lines in the central China region, with the operating rate remaining stable. In terms of capacity utilisation, some steel mills in Hubei reduced their operating hours, leading to a decrease in wire rod supply in the region. For in-plant inventory, steel mills maintained normal shipments, and the in-plant inventory of wire rods continued to decline.

It is expected that wire rod production in the central China region will remain relatively stable in the next period, with each steel mill maintaining its current production pace.
