China's Monthly Bauxite Import Data for November 2024 (Including Country Rankings)

SMM December 20 Update: From January-November, China's cumulative bauxite imports reached 143.899 million mt, up 11.1% YoY. By country, imports from Guinea were 99.919 million mt, accounting for 69.44% of total imports, up 9.9% YoY; imports from Australia were 36.5 million mt, accounting for 25.36% of total imports, up 16.3% YoY; non-mainstream bauxite imports totaled 7.48 million mt, accounting for 5.20% of total imports, an increase of 38.8% compared to the 2023 non-mainstream bauxite import total (excluding Indonesian imports). According to the General Administration of Customs of China, in November 2024, China imported 12.35 million mt of bauxite, up 0.5% MoM and 3.6% YoY. By country, imports from Guinea were 8 million mt, up 5.3% MoM and down 0.1% YoY; imports from Australia were 3.508 million mt, down 5.1% MoM and up 0.2% YoY; imports from Laos were 215,000 mt, from Turkey 144,000 mt, from Ghana 126,000 mt, from Brazil 123,000 mt, from Malaysia 113,000 mt, from India 50,000 mt, from the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire 50,000 mt, and from Jamaica 20,000 mt.
