After Resuming and Increasing Production Following Chinese New Year, Lead-Acid Battery Companies Shift to a Produce-Based-on-Sales Model [SMM Weekly Review on Lead-Acid Battery Operating Rates]
Feb 21, 2025, at 4:51 pm
SMM February 21 News: According to reports, the weekly comprehensive operating rate of lead-acid battery enterprises in five provinces monitored by SMM was 71.42% during February 15-21, 2025, an increase of 2.92 percentage points WoW.
After the Chinese New Year, following three consecutive weeks of recovery, major lead-acid battery enterprises have resumed normal production. This week, the weekly operating rate of lead-acid battery enterprises saw a slight increase, mainly due to extended production time and ramped-up production output in enterprises that resumed operations last week.
Recently, the end-use consumption in the lead-acid battery market has been weak. The "small peak" in dealer restocking typically seen after the Chinese New Year did not occur this year, with dealer restocking volumes being low and scattered. Except for some large automotive and ESS battery enterprises whose production lines can reach full capacity, the operating rates of most other enterprises ranged from 50-80%, and they remain cautious about future consumption trends.
