[SMM Weekly Review on Primary Lead Operating Rates]
This week (February 15–February 21, 2025), production at primary lead smelters continued to focus on recovery and capacity expansion, with the operating rate of primary lead in the three provinces increasing by 6.68 percentage points WoW to 56.05%.
In Henan, large-scale smelters maintained stable production this week, while two small-scale smelters resumed and increased their primary lead production as scheduled. In Hunan, smelters gradually resumed production and scheduled output this week, though some smelters have yet to reach full capacity, and the full-capacity production plan for certain smelters has been postponed to March. In Yunnan, smelters that had previously halted production for maintenance resumed and maintained stable production, with the operating rate remaining flat WoW. Outside the surveyed samples of the three provinces, smelters in Jiangxi maintained stable production this week after a slight increase in output, while smelters in Guangdong sustained normal production following the post-holiday recovery.
