On February 13, the on-site promotion event for major projects in Sichuan Province for Q1 2025 and the groundbreaking ceremony for the first batch of construction projects for the development and utilization of the Hongge South vanadium-titanium magnetite mine were held in Yanbian County.
On February 13, the Sichuan Province 2025 Q1 Major Project On-Site Promotion Event and the Groundbreaking Ceremony for the First Batch of Construction Projects for the Development and Utilisation of the Hongge South Vanadium-Titanium Magnetite Mine were held in Yanbian County. This marked the official commencement of substantial construction for the entire industry chain development of the Hongge South Mine, ushering in a new era of high-level development of a modern industrial cluster with "100 billion investment and 1 trillion output value." By the end of 2028, the Hongge South Mine is expected to achieve a mining production capacity of 20 million mt. In the future, with the completion of related projects at the Hongge South Mine, it will establish an annual production capacity of 9 million mt of iron ore concentrates, 2.6 million mt of titanium concentrates, and 50,000 mt of sulfur-cobalt concentrates, forming a significant national supply capacity for primary products. Additionally, it will support the layout of comprehensive utilisation and advanced processing industries for vanadium, titanium, and associated resources, contributing to the construction of a world-class vanadium-titanium industrial base in Panzhihua.
