The operating rate of primary lead in the three provinces decreased by 8.81 percentage points compared to the week before the holiday, reaching 46.84%. This week (February 1, 2025 - February 7, 2025), the operating rate of primary lead in the three provinces continued to decline by 0.4 percentage points to 46.45%.
In Henan, smelters that underwent maintenance and production cuts during the Chinese New Year holiday did not resume as scheduled. One smelter resumed crude lead production, but primary lead production is expected to resume next week. Another smelter also mentioned a slight production increase next week. In Hunan, smelters that halted production for maintenance during the holiday did not resume production as scheduled this week. Some smelters resumed crude lead production, but primary lead production is expected to gradually increase next week. Additionally, one smelter scheduled maintenance and production halts after the holiday, and the supply of primary lead in the region continued to decline. In Yunnan, smelters that previously halted production for maintenance resumed primary lead production this week but have not yet reached full capacity, while other smelters maintained stable production. Outside the surveyed samples of the three provinces, smelters in Jiangxi have not yet resumed full production, while smelters in Guangdong increased production after maintenance recovery during the holiday and returned to normal production after the holiday.
