SMM, February 7: The weekly zinc concentrate TCs showed a significant increase. The weekly average domestic TC for SMM Zn50 rose by 250 yuan/mt (metal content) WoW to 2,600 yuan/mt (metal content), while the weekly average imported TC for SMM Zn50 increased by $5/dmt WoW to $15/dmt. By region, the average processing fees in many domestic areas generally ranged from 2,500 to 2,800 yuan/mt (metal content), with Inner Mongolia and north-east China at relatively high levels nationwide. In the spot ore market, domestic zinc concentrate TC negotiations for February were mostly finalized, and this week, domestic smelters showed low sentiment for raw material procurement. Regarding imported ore, some imported ore traders remained on holiday at the beginning of the new year, with almost no offers or transactions in the market. The significant increase in zinc concentrate TCs both domestically and internationally encouraged domestic ore traders to actively sell, while smelters also anticipated higher TCs in the future. Additionally, the days of raw material inventories at domestic smelters rose to around 28 days in January, with sufficient raw material stocking. As a result, some smelters opted to reduce raw material procurement in February. The ample supply of zinc concentrates continued, driving a notable increase in zinc concentrate TCs across many domestic regions. This week, SMM zinc concentrate inventory at China's main ports totaled 374,100 mt, down 12,100 mt WoW, with port zinc concentrate inventories remaining at high levels. 》Subscribe to view SMM historical spot metal prices
