This week, the average cost in the APT industry was 216,098 yuan/mt, the average profit was -3,348 yuan/mt, and the average profit margin was -1.57%.
As the Chinese New Year approached, raw material producers halted production and went on holiday, leading to tighter market supply and persistently firm raw material prices. However, due to continued sluggish downstream demand and low acceptance of high-priced goods, APT prices struggled to rise, exacerbating the issue of price inversion faced by APT smelters.
