Recently, the on-site progress of the electrical control system project for the WISCO new energy non-oriented silicon steel finishing line, undertaken by Tianjin Electric Institute System Engineering Company, has been remarkable. The hot testing of the entire CS19 line is nearing completion, with the first coil of the CS18 line successfully rolled off during the integrated trial run on December 18, and the line reaching its designed maximum speed on December 19. Meanwhile, the CS17 line has entered the comprehensive electrical commissioning phase. The project as a whole has entered the critical stage of on-site commissioning for final success.
The structural optimization project for WISCO's new energy non-oriented silicon steel is a key project during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period for Hubei Province and Baowu Group. It is contracted by Baosteel Engineering Technology Group and includes the construction of 10 new units such as pickling, tandem rolling, and finishing lines, along with supporting facilities, with a total investment of nearly 4 billion yuan. Upon completion, WISCO will possess a high-grade non-oriented silicon steel production line fully dedicated to the NEV industry, with an annual capacity of 550,000 mt. The new project will provide high-grade materials for 4.4 million NEVs annually, reducing carbon emissions by 4 million mt each year.
