Nickel Salt Prices Rose This Week, Supply Remained Tight
As of Thursday this week, the SMM battery-grade nickel sulphate index price stood at 26,576 yuan/mt, with the quotation range for battery-grade nickel sulphate at 26,380-27,040 yuan/mt. The average price rebounded WoW.
Demand side, ahead of the holiday this week, some precursor plants began inquiring in the market, but actual procurement volumes remained low. Currently, losses at ternary cathode precursor plants have made them cautious in purchasing. Supply side, spot orders in the nickel salt market remained tight. Given the recent rise in LME nickel prices, cost pressure has continued to increase, and the phenomenon of losses faced by nickel sulphate producers has become more severe, leading to a stronger sentiment to stand firm on quotes.
