Beijing (Gasgoo)- On July 18, the Shanghai’s Lin-gang Special Area Administration and China Automotive Technology and Research Center Co., Ltd. (CATARC) signed a strategic cooperation agreement. Additionally, agreements were signed with CATARC Automotive Technology (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. (CATARC Technology) and Shanghai Lingang Sci-Tech City Economic Development Co., Ltd. (Lingang Sci-Tech City).
According to the agreements, the Lin-gang Special Area Administration, CATARC, and Lingang Group will jointly establish the Lin-gang Special Area Cross-Border Automotive Data Innovation Center. This center aims to provide robust technical support for cross-border automotive data trials in the Lin-gang Special Area. It will focus on the cross-border flow of automotive data, emphasizing the integration of data flow regulations, safety assessment systems, and compliance services for data exiting the country. Additionally, the center will gradually build a platform for cross-border automotive data safety testing and certification.
The Innovation Center will also advance R&D in automotive data rights confirmation, asset incorporation, transaction systems, and platform development. It aims to introduce and cultivate a ecosystem for automotive data development in the Lin-gang Special Area.
This collaboration will help Lin-gang Special Area become an internationally recognized hub for automotive data and innovation. It will serve as a leading domestic demonstration area for cross-border automotive scenarios. Furthermore, the initiative will support the development of platforms for autonomous driving, low-altitude economy, automotive chip testing and certification, automotive large model industry innovation, and new energy vehicle battery health assessment.
