Beijing (Gasgoo)- On May 20, Chinese automaker JAC Group celebrated its 60th anniversary with a technology open day event in Hefei, officially launching road tests for its intelligent connected vehicles.
The unveiling of JAC Group's road test license for intelligent connected vehicles signifies that the expressway navigation pilot autonomous driving work of JAC’s RF8 model has entered the public road-testing phase.
JAC Group is actively advancing R&D in four major fields, including intelligent architecture, intelligent driving, intelligent cockpit, and intelligent services. The company has established Anhui province's first key laboratory for intelligent connected technology and the Anhui Autonomous Driving Industry Innovation Center, two provincial-level innovation platforms.
In 2023, JAC Group invested 2.234 billion yuan in R&D, representing a year-on-year increase of 24.48%. The company was granted 191 patents throughout the year, including 155 invention patents. In the first quarter of 2024, R&D investment reached 788 million yuan, which surged 83.11% from a year ago. The company plans to spend over 7 billion yuan on R&D and investments for the entire year, with R&D expenditure accounting for about 9% of sales revenue.
Over the next five years, the company plans to accelerate the introduction of a new product lineup, covering more than 30 models encompassing SUVs, MPVs, pickups, and rugged off-road vehicle types.
