Sigma Lithium reported its 1Q 2024 earnings results on 16 May, announcing a strong performance including 54,168 tonnes of production, and 52,857 tonnes of shipment during the quarter. The average realised price (FOB) was US$930 per tonne, and the cash operating cost was US$462 per tonne during the quarter. Further, the ninth shipment of its lithium concentrate with sustainability premium is scheduled for the week of May 20th, priced at US$1,290 per tonne (SC6).
The management team expresses optimism about Sigma’s expansion timeline and addresses concerns from LG’s arbitration notice. CEO Ana Cabral-Gardner is confident in sustaining Sigma products’ premium and strengthening partnerships despite volatilities in the market with the new “fixed-floating” pricing mechanism.
