For the week ending December 21, lithium hydroxide prices fell. Supply was largely governed by long-term contracts, with limited spot transactions. Current demand from high-nickel ternary cathode precursor producers was subdued, and some producers were facing fewer orders from battery cell enterprises. Consequently, long-term contracts for lithium hydroxide were mainly fulfilling the need of cathode companies. Downstream firms were showing minimal enthusiasm in buying, resulting in low demand and ongoing decline in lithium hydroxide prices.
