China exported 15,317 mt of lithium hydroxide in November 2023, up 49% MoM and 73% YoY. In terms of export destinations, China reduced its export to many countries while significantly increasing that to South Korea, which has driven the overall export of lithium hydroxide to increase. Exports to South Korea hit 12,125 mt in November, up 92% MoM, while exports to Japan and Sweden, the second and third largest buyers, were 2,530 mt and 288 mt respectively, down 8% and 53% MoM.
The average import price was $37,458/mt in November 2023, down 11% MoM and 23% YoY. In detail, the average price of lithium hydroxide exported to South Korea was $37,022/mt, and that of lithium hydroxide exported to Japan was $40,638/mt, down 5% MoM and 20% respectively.
From January to November, export volume totalled 117,611 mt, an increase of 39% YoY.
