On December 20, the SMM battery-grade nickel sulphate index price was 26,082 yuan/mt, the same as the previous working day. The battery-grade nickel sulphate price range was 26,100-26,700 yuan/mt, and the average price remained unchanged compared to the previous working day. Prices of nickel sulphate were stable yesterday. Upstream quotations have not been further reduced, but the weak overall demand for precursors has slowed nickel sulphate procurement. In terms of the refined nickel, smelters who rely on externally sourced nickel sulphate struggle near the break-even point. Despite the inquiry, the transaction is still bleak. Nickel sulphate prices are expected to stabilize temporarily. Looking ahead, there is no obvious sign of rebound due to weak demand.
