On December 15, TSX-listed Li3 Lithium Corp announced that it has sold its stake in the Mutare lithium project in Zimbabwe and decided to shift its focus to the Northern Lights copper project in Nevada, US.
This decision was made due to the company’s lack of funds and resources to work on both projects simultaneously according to the announcement. The move will allow Li3 Lithium to concentrate its resources on the Nevada copper project, which aligns with the US government’s focus on copper as another critical mineral. The company is also considering a name change to reflect its new copper-only focus.
This strategic shift to copper could signal that companies may weigh a reassessment within the lithium industry against the backdrop of market volatilities and financial considerations.
