For the week ending December 7, anode material prices continued to fall. In Northeast China, prices of low-sulphur petroleum coke dropped, with short-term stability expected and prices of oil-based needle coke remained low. Graphitisation prices, affected by tendering and lower downstream demand, might drop further, even as they are already very low. As the year-end nears, the EV and energy storage markets' demand has decreased, focusing on inventory reduction. With new anode production capacities emerging, the oversupply is likely to continue. The market faces intense competition, and further declines in anode prices are possible.
