Haidong Xu, deputy chief engineer of the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM), said the auto industry had exceeded expectations this year, with total sales expected to reach a record high of 30 million vehicles. The CAAM previously predicted that the new energy vehicle sales would rise 30% YoY to 9 million units.
