Last week, prices for high-purity quartz sand's inner and middle layers remained steady, while outer layer prices began to dip slightly. Industry leaders price inner layer sand at 390,000 to 440,000 yuan/mt, middle layer sand at 190,000 to 230,000 yuan/mt, and outer layer sand at 80,000 to 120,000 yuan/mt. Some companies have lowered outer layer sand's transaction price to 50,000 yuan/mt. Anticipating weaker silicon wafer demand, domestic quartz sand demand, especially for the outer layer sand, slowed due to its ample supply, pushing its transaction price down to 50,000 yuan/mt. Whilst prices for outer layer sand from industry leaders remained stable, price decreases were expected for middle and outer layers, especially the abundant outer layer sand. Despite an increase in domestic supply of inner layer sand, high-quality sand still relied on overseas imports. With expansion plans for imported sand still distant, its price was expected to remain stable.
