SHANGHAI, Aug 24 (SMM) –
Price: High prices of silica in some production areas slightly moved upwards With persistently high operating rates of Yunnan-based silicon factories, demand for high-grade silica in the southern China increased. Under such circumstance, high prices of high-grade silica in Hubei and Yunnan slightly moved upwards. The ex-factory prices of high-grade silica in Hubei and low-grade one in Yunnan were 420-480 yuan/mt and 330-370 yuan/mt respectively.
Supply: Normal output of silica production areas in the south China was reported, and large-scale mines in Hubei mostly deliver goods, in tune with orders. With operation resumption of silicon factories in northern China, the overall supply of high-grade silica was slightly tighter.
Demand: Persistently high operating rate of silicon factories in Sichuan and Yunnan brought with it red-hot demand for silica. In addition, demand for silica in northern silicon factories also slowly picked up. In a word, a turnaround in overall demand was monitored.
