On August 22, the China Coal Transportation and Distribution Association released a ten-day report on coal market scheduling. In early August, coal enterprises accelerated the release of advanced coal production capacity and increased coal production. The production, sales, and transportation of the key monitored coal enterprises all increase significantly YoY. In terms of downstream demand by industry, high-temperature weather, and rainfall alternated in the first ten days of August, causing thermal power generation to continue to grow MoM. Hydropower generation ended the negative growth trend in mid-January, reduced the proportion of thermal power generation, and turned its growth from positive to negative. The operating rate of blast furnaces in steel mills rose, and output both of pig iron and the coal consumption of key monitored coal and steel enterprises increased. Coal inventories in coal-producing areas, transit ports, and steel and coking coal enterprises decreased. At home and abroad, coal prices fluctuated.
