Four departments including the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology jointly issued a notice on printing and distributing the “Implementation Plan for New Industry Standardization Pilot Project (2023-2035)”. The plan mainly focuses on the standardization work of emerging industries and future industries, forming the "8 plus 9" key areas of new industry standardization. “8” refers to the focus areas of emerging industries: information technology, new energy, new materials, high-end equipment, new energy vehicles, green environmental protection, civil aviation, and ships and ocean engineering equipment. “9” refers to nine major future industries, namely, Metaverse, brain-computer interface, quantum information, humanoid robot, generative artificial intelligence, biological manufacturing, future display, future network, and new energy storage. By 2025, the standard system that supports the development of emerging industries will be gradually improved, and the standards leading the innovation and development of future industries will be accelerated. By 2030, the standard system meeting the high-quality development needs of new industries will continue to improve, and the standardization work system will become more complete. By 2035, the supply of standards meeting the high-quality development needs of new industries will be more sufficient, and a new opening and integrated industrial standardization work system with enterprises as main participants and government as guidance will be fully formed.
