SHANGHAI, Aug 21 (SMM) –The SMM battery-grade lithium carbonate index was 221,843 yuan/mt on August 21, a decrease of 271 yuan/mt from the previous working day. Battery-grade lithium carbonate price range was 210,000-240,000 yuan/mt, flat from the previous working day. Industrial-grade lithium carbonate price range was 202,000-220,000 yuan/mt, unchanged from the previous working day.
Due to the slowdown in price drop and inquiries from the downstream, the market generally believes that the short-term price has fallen to the bottom line. Therefore, the activity of market inquiries increased today, stemming the decline in spot prices. At the same time, affected by the news of lithium mine auction in Xinjiang and salt lake auction in Qinghai, the market is in a wait-and-see mood.
