SHANGHAI, Aug 22 (SMM) – According to customs data, in July 2023, China's imports of lithium carbonate reached 12,930 mt, a 1% increase MoM and a 38% increase YoY. In terms of import countries, imports from Chile decreased by 0.5% MoM, while imports from Argentina increased by 30%. In terms of import prices, in July 2023, the average import price of lithium carbonate in China was $33,559/mt, a 32% increase MoM but a 46% decrease YoY. Specifically, the average import price from Chile was $34,775/mt, representing a 36% increase compared to June. Analyzing the imported quantity by receiving provinces (excluding tax), 77% of the total imported lithium carbonate went to Shanghai, 8% to Jiangsu, 7% to Fujian, and 3% to Sichuan. From January to July 2023, China's cumulative imports of lithium carbonate reached 85,875 mt, a 6% increase YoY.
