SHANGHAI, Aug 21 (SMM) –
According to SMM research, pure nickel inventory in six regions across China stood at 6,676 mt in the week ending August 18, up 306 mt from August 11. In detail, the inventory of nickel briquettes was 310 mt, remained unchanged WoW, and that of nickel plates was 6,366 mt, up 306 mt. SHFE nickel prices rose in the week ending August 18. Downstream enterprises were influenced by the increase in raw material costs, leading to a weakening of purchase sentiment. It is expected that there will be a slight increase in social inventory of pure nickel in the week ending August 25 because of anticipated slowdown in downstream purchasing activity.
