SHANGHAI, Aug 15 (SMM) –
A total of 8.78 million mt of coal ore arrived at Chinese ports last week, up 8% week-on-week.
Among them, the total amount of arrivals at 11 major ports was 4.279 million mt, an increase of 9.8% WoW, and the total arrivals at Guangzhou Port was 960,000 mt, an increase of 25.4% WoW, accounting for 11% of the total arrivals. SMM statistics showed that the global coal shipments totaled 27.046 million mt last week, a drop of 10.5% week-on-week. Among them, the total output of the seven major ports was 11.456 million mt, a dip of 17.6% from the previous week, and the total output of Newcastle Port in Australia was 1.898 million mt, a decrease of 39.9% from the previous week, accounting for 7% of the total output.
