SHANGHAI, May 19 (SMM) - The prices of chrome ore fell initially before rising in April. As of May 10, the average price of Cr40-42% South African chrome concentrate fell was 60 yuan/mtu.
Port arrivals remained at a relatively high level in April. High-carbon ferrochrome plants were more willing to produce after Tsingshan Group’s May bid prices topped their expectations. This, coupled with stocking ahead of the Labour Day holiday, allowed port inventories to fall below 2 million mt in early May.
