The number of new EV models on display at the Shanghai Auto Show has exceeded that of gasoline-powered one for the first time, marking a major shift to electrification process.
The 20th Shanghai International Automobile Industry Exhibition (Auto Shanghai 2023) kicked off on April 18 in east China's Shanghai and will last until April 27. As the first A-class international auto show held in China this year, Auto Shanghai 2023 serves as a grand gathering for global car manufacturers.
The event has attracted more than 1,000 car manufacturers from around the globe. The theme of Auto Shanghai 2023 is Embracing New Era of Automobile Industry. And this new era is featured by electrification.
NEV models being displayed at the event has outnumbered gasoline-powered ones for the first time. A total of 144 new car models are at display, including 58 gasoline-powered car models and 76 NEV models.
