SHANGHAI, Apr 28 (SMM) - SMM research showed that the market demand for silicone oil has not improved palpably this week. The price competition among companies was vehement. Some Chinese silicone oil companies lowered their prices to win orders, and so did some foreign-funded enterprises. Dimethyl silicone oil prices stood at 17,200-18,500 yuan/mt as of April 27. The average price was 17,850 yuan/mt, down 150 yuan/mt WoW. SMM predicts that the short-term silicone oil prices will run with some downward potential amid the sufficient supply and the upcoming off-season of the silicone sector.
