SHANGHAI, Apr 26 (SMM) - Eleven government departments, including the National Standardization Management Committee, the National Development and Reform Commission, and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, recently jointly issued the Guidelines for the Construction of Carbon Peak Carbon & Neutrality Standard System, proposing to basically build a carbon peak and carbon neutral standard system, with the focus on basic general standards, as well as carbon emission reduction and carbon removal, carbon market and other development needs. By 2025, they will formulate and revise no less than 1,000 national and industry standards (including foreign language versions), significantly improve the degree of consistency with international standards, achieve full coverage of standards for carbon accounting and verification in major industries, and steady improvement of standard indicators for energy consumption and energy efficiency in key industries and products. There will no less than 30 international standards related to green and low carbon.
