Junior explorer Rumble Resources has announced its first resource estimate for its Earaheedy lead-zinc mine in Western Australia, MiningWeekly reports.
The project currently has an ore resource of 94 million mt. The content of lead, zinc and silver stands at 600,000 mt, 2.2 million mt and 12.6 million ounces, respectively, making it one of the largest zinc sulphide deposits discovered globally in the last decade.
The company manager, Shane Sikora, said on Wednesday that "this exceptional resource estimate is a major milestone for Rumble, confirming the Earaheedy Project as one of the largest zinc sulphide discoveries globally over the last decade" and "achieving a maiden JORC-compliant mineral resource estimate of this size and significance in 24 months post-discovery is a tremendous effort by the technical team and especially Brett Keillor."
"Myself and the team are really excited as we believe we have only scratched the surface on the discovery front, and can’t wait to see the drill rigs turning again next month," added Sikora.
Rumble believes there is significant potential for resource growth at the project, with three deposits that are unpenetrated at depth and along strike, and only 30% of the 45 km long shallow, flat-lying unconformity surface verified.
