SHANGHAI, Sep 27 (SMM) –The Ministry of Finance, the State Administration of Taxation, and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology jointly issued an announcement on the continuation of the purchase tax exemption policy for new energy vehicles (NEVs). NEVs that are purchased during January 1, 2023-December 31, 2023 will be exempt from purchase tax.
The NEVs enjoying the tax exemption will be included into catalogues issued by the MIIT and the State Taxation Administration as an approach of governmental management.
Pure electric vehicles, plug-in hybrid (including extended-range) electric vehicles, and fuel cell vehicles that are listed in the Catalogue of New Energy Vehicle Models Eligible for Vehicle Purchase Tax Exemption and purchased from the date of publication of the Catalogue are new energy vehicles that meet the tax exemption requirements.
