LCO cathode prices rose sharply again this week, mainly driven by higher lithium carbonate prices. Cathode plants have raised offers for standard products to above 400,000 yuan/mt, but no deals have been concluded at this level. The government introduced a new tax rebate policy last Friday. Given that direct exports of LCO cathode are relatively small and most LCO battery cells are exported as finished products with built-in cells, the impact of this policy on the LCO market is expected to be limited.
